Oktoberfest Moscow, Russia

Paulaner beer in Red Square!

Red Square, Moscow- Home of the Oktoberfest

In September and October 2000 the ‘Münchner Brauerei’ organized the first Munich Oktoberfest in Moscow and the German beer festival has been a popular attraction ever since!

Mostly starting on the same weekend as the original Munich Oktoberfest it continues for a week longer. However, the main difference lies not in the fact that you won’t find the Oktoberfest Beer tents or fairground bustle of the Munich event in Moscow, but that many of the bars, pubs and nightclubs celebrate the German beer festival for three weeks! The atmosphere of the Oktoberfest beer tents and all the elements of Oktoberfest hospitality including Bavarian specialties, German beer and one or other of the Oktoberfest music hits are all moved indoors. This Oktoberfest is a hit even without tents and the city is twice as busy as at other times.
